Kilimanjaro Marangu Route

The route starts here
You can increase your chances of reaching the summit by spending an extra night on the ascent, ideally at Horombo Hut. Treks on this route usually descend by the same route.
This is the easiest and most popular route up Kilimanjaro, and the one used by most of the trekking companies. The path is straightforward and there are three large, comfortable huts conveniently spaced along the way. A trek on this route usually takes five days (four nights) for the round trip. Most trekkers on this route only go as far as Gilman's Point, on the crater rim at 5685 metres, as from there to the summit at Uhuru Peak and back requires another four hours of walking.
